Amy is a veteran non-profit meeting and event professional. She is currently the
Manager of Special Events for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. Previously,
she worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada coordinating an annual
fundraising gala, golf tournament, Bowl for Kid’s Sake, and various other fundraising
events. Beaulieu also worked for USA Hosts, one of the largest destination management
companies in Las Vegas as Director of Operations.
She is an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She teaches in the
areas of meeting planning, conventions and special events at The William F. Harrah
College of Hotel Administration, Department of Tourism & Convention
Before moving to Las Vegas, Beaulieu was a medical non-profit meeting planner with the
Midwest Bioethics Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She coordinated various meetings
and conferences for a wide variety of audiences across the country.
Beaulieu is an at-large member of Meeting Professionals International and has served at
the international committee level for years. She has served on the Research Development
Advisory Panel, the Student/Faculty Committee and on the Multicultural Initiative
Committee. Beaulieu chaired the professional development sub-committee of the
Initiative for two years. She served on the Kansas City MPI chapter’s Board of Directors
and on committees including the public relations and education conference. She was
honored with a “Rising Star” award by the KCMPI chapter in May 2003.
She has published articles on the following topics: “The Importance of Cultural
Sensitivity and Multicultural Business Protocol”, and “Characteristics of a Meeting
Planner: Attributes of an Emerging Profession.” Besides being a widely quoted source for
numerous industry trade magazine articles, Beaulieu also has been a guest speaker at
various conferences around the country.
She was the first person to receive a master of hospitality administration degree with an
emphasis in meetings, events, conventions and exhibitions from the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas.
