William B. Werner is an assistant professor in the Department of Hotel Management of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at UNLV. Prior to his appointment in 2001, Bill served as associate general counsel for Boyd Gaming Corporation for eight years and as assistant general counsel of Mirage Resorts, Inc. Bill’s primary area of practice and the focus of his academic research is employment law.
At UNLV, Professor Werner teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality law, employment law, hotel security and labor law. His academic research has been published in the Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly and the online Journal of Hospitality Law, Safety and Security. He is also co-editor of Student Freedom Revisited: New Issues and Perspectives, published in 2005 by NASPA.
Professor Werner received his bachelor’s degree in American History from The Ohio State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati.
