Ellis D. Norman, MBA, CHE is the Founder and CEO of Hospitality Experts Consortium, LLC and it’s subsidiary -- The International School of Hospitality (TISOH). Additionally, he teaches “Introduction to Hospitality”, “Human Resource Management”, and coordinates lodging internships for the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at UNLV. Prior to teaching, he was a Food & Beverage Director, University Residence Hall Manager, Human Resource Manager, Hospital Administrator, and Hotel General Manager. He is a consultant for educational, industry, and government hospitality and tourism programs and has served as an expert witness for more than 20 hotel litigation cases. He arranges student internships with major gaming resorts in Las Vegas, and has traveled to mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, the Caribbean Islands, Canada, Australia, Europe, and South Africa to arrange them. Consequently, UNLV’s College of Hotel Administration offers one of the most geographically diverse internship programs among the U.S. major baccalaureate hotel management schools.

Professor Norman authored several refereed papers on International Internship Programs and made conference presentation on the subject for the Asia Pacific Tourism Association (ATPA) in China (Hong Kong and Dalian) and Sydney, Australia. He has written 22 articles in his “Management Focus Column” of the Nevada Hospitality trade journal, published in the Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Quarterly, and written textbook chapters for academic programs. Ellis has also produced more than three-dozen videos used to teach on-line courses in hotel management and internship scenarios. He earned a BA in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from Michigan State University and a MBA from the University of Chicago, where he concentrated in Healthcare Administration.
