Gary Potts, MS, OIE is a successful Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Leadership lecturer at UNLV. Mr. Potts transitioned in 2004 to the classroom after serving over 33 years with a large, international pharmaceutical research, development and manufacturing company. That experience enabled him to gain expertise in the areas of team building, problem solving, organizational effectiveness, coaching and counseling, communications, strategic planning, and human resources management. He led an alumni group in Engineering at Purdue University and was named an Outstanding Industrial Engineer in 2001. During his pharmaceutical career, Gary traveled and consulted with multiple company operations in France, England, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. He spent five years in England in the early 1980’s. At UNLV, he has conducted multiple classes in the College of Hotel Administration, including design and administration of an online course in Lessons in Leadership and has subsequently taught a similar course to the Executive Masters students at UNLV’s newly opened Singapore Campus. He consults frequently to groups and organizations who desire to create effective Mission and Vision statements and build strategic plans, with supporting work initiatives.
