Dr.
Kurt Stahura
earned his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin with a double major in
History
and Culture and his M.A. and Ph.D in Sport Sociology from the
University of
Minnesota. He is currently a professor at UNLV. He has taught courses
at
the undergraduate and graduate levels in sport
sociology, research
methods, ethics in sports, legal issues in sports, organizational
theory and
administration in sport settings. Dr. Stahura has published over 25
articles
appearing in regional, national, and international journals, and has
over 80
presentations to his credit. His scholarly pursuits and consulting
expertise
have brought him to China, Greece, Canada, and all over the United
States. He has
conducted research on culture, race and gender as it relates to sports,
as well
as the privatization of sport and the rise of sport clubs.
