Gail is the Director of Masters's Programs in the William F. Harrah College of
Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). Concurrently she teaches
lodging operations and human resources management courses on the graduate and undergraduate
levels. The hotel operations and housekeeping audits developed by Gail have been
successfully used in both chain and independent properties -- small and large. These audits
are adaptable to all levels of hotel service. Gail co-authored a Front Office Operations and
Auditing Workbook which has contemporary academic and industry
application. She has conducted
extensive research on: lodging operational audits, training, organizational citizenship
behavior as a predictor of work performance, and satisfaction with benefits and job commitment
issues. Gail presents training sessions to both small and large groups of managers,
nationally and internationally.
Prior to entering hospitality education and consulting, she owned and operated The Glacier Motor
Hotel in Cut Bank, Montana and worked for the Boyd Group as
Restaurant Manager and Food &
Beverage Controller. Gail is a member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, National
Restaurant Association, Council on Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Education, and Society
of Human Resource Managers.
